Welcome to my sunset site.

As an amateur photographer I have developed a passion for the wonderful colours and reflections that can be captured at sunset and have created this website to share experiences with you.

There are few things in nature as photogenic as the sky at sunset. The rich bright gold, pink, red and orange colours make unusually beautiful pictures. As the day draws to a close and the sun bends to the horizon, its light has to travel further though the atmosphere to reach us. We gradually see less blue in the sky as it lights up with fiery colours, as the shorter wavelengths no longer reach us and particles in the atmosphere scatter the fleeting sunlight. I find taking in the beauty of the sky in the evenings can be very relaxing and a great way to unwind after a stressful day at work.

These sunset photographs have been taken over the last few years in the UK mainly in Hampshire where I live but others have been captured in West Sussex, Lake District and Leicestershire. Please browse the GALLERY and enjoy the colours
